Farewell 2023 – Thanks for all the Valuable Lessons

As 2023 draws to a close, we would like to take a moment to personally thank you for your steadfast belief in people’s potential, including your own to achieve great things,  for your trust in our services in helping to realise that potential, and for your continued loyalty and partnership over the years.  We appreciate and value your leadership.

In reflection and celebration of our collective growth throughout the days of 2023, we would like to share with you the words of renowned Irish poet John O’Donohue, in wishing you continued success on your wonderfully unique leadership adventure.

For a Leader

“May you have the grace and wisdom

To act kindly, learning

To distinguish between what is

Personal and what is not.

____

May you be hospitable to criticism.

May you never put yourself at the centre of things.

May you act not from arrogance but out of service.

____

May you work on yourself

Building up and refining the ways of your mind.

May those who work for you know

You see and respect them.

____

May you learn to cultivate the art of presence

In order to engage with those who meet you.

____

When someone fails or disappoints you,

May the graciousness with which you engage

Be their stairway to renewal and refinement.

____

May you treasure the gifts of mind

Through reading and creative thinking

So that you continue as a servant of the frontier

Where the new will draw its enrichment from the old,

And you will never become a functionary.

____

May you know the wisdom of deep listening,

The healing of wholesome words,

The encouragement of the appreciative gaze,

The decorum of high dignity,

The springtime edge of the bleak question.

____

May you have a mind that loves frontiers

So that you can evoke the bright fields

That lie beyond the view of the regular eye.

____

May you have good friends

To mirror your blind spots.

____

May leadership be for you

A true adventure of growth.”

Merry Christmas,

Carolanne, Gema and the PPI Team
